Millrace News

February 2014

We are delighted to announce that our ‘outdoor’ list has found a new home with Vertebrate, based in Sheffield and one of the UK’s leading publishers of mountain books. Vertebrate is young, dynamic and dedicated and we know that our list and authors will be in the best of hands.

The transfer marks the end of a very enjoyable era for us, and we would like to thank all those of you who have supported us so loyally and sent such appreciative messages over the years. It’s not quite the end of Millrace, however. We’re moving south this summer, taking the Literature and Travel History list with us, and hope to continue for a few more years yet …

On a final, upbeat note: Kate Baylay, the artist responsible for two of our most striking jackets, has had another Folio commission and produced hauntingly beautiful illustrations for Isak Dinesen’s Seven Gothic Tales. She rounded off the year by illustrating Susan Hill’s story in the Christmas edition of The Spectator. What a triumph!
